We live in an increasingly global world where having the ability to learn a second language can give your child many advantages. Learning a second language is just one of the many advantages of welcoming an au pair. One CHI Au Pair USA participant Vivian, from China, recently shared that per the host parents request, she only speaks Mandarin with the children she watches. In addition to Mandarin, the children are quite fluent in Spanish, as that is the language their father speaks. With their mother speaking English, sometimes their sentences will be a combination of Spanish, Mandarin and English. Vivian describes it as being quite adorable.
