Okinawa Student Visit
On Aug. 12, 25 exchange students from Okinawa, Japan (Lakewood’s Sister City) visited Lakewood City Hall. With Communications Manager Brent Champaco as their tour guide, the junior high students – who are here for three weeks courtesy of Cultural Homestay International – learned about City government, got to observe the Municipal Court and even got a true taste of Lakewood with some treats from the Original House Of Donuts. Obviously, the students loved taking pictures, including this selfie in the Council Chambers. What an awesome time!
