Experience the culture and excitement of living in another country with a host family by signing up for our English Conversation Volunteers Abroad (ECVA) program. As an English Conversation Volunteer (ECV) you can go almost anywhere and stay with a host family for 1, 2 or 3 months - you choose.
The family provides you a room and 3 meals a day while you provide casual English conversation practice for up to 15 hours each week - usually 3 hours per day. Your free time is yours to explore the culture and the sights of the country you have chosen. No prior tutoring experience is necessary! Some U.S. Colleges and Universities allow credits for your teaching activities. Some countries may allow you to conduct English conversation classes in their Universities or, occasionally, you may be able to give private lessons.
While many of our students prefer to travel during the summer, ECVA is a year-round program. In most cases, we can place you when you want to go to the country of your choice!
