1. Namsan Park
Namsan Park is located below Namsan Tower on one of the tallest hills in Seoul. There are beautiful gardens with tons of paths worth exploring and gorgeous views of the city – especially at sunset! Namsan Tower even has a viewing deck where you can see Seoul in 360 degrees.
2. Paperboy Cafe
Located in the trendy neighborhood of Itaewon on the slopes of Namsan Mountain, this cute and quiet cafe offers delicious french toast and tartines as well as various coffees. Be sure to try their strawberry milk, too! 260-356 Itaewon 2(i)-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul
3. Bongeunsa Temple
Many people head straight to Gyeongbokgung Palace, one the oldest and largest temples in Seoul, but this quiet temple in the Gangam neighborhood of Seoul is much less crowded and just as beautiful. The grounds are free to enter and walk around in and the walkways are often strung with thousands of colorful lanterns! The temple is located across from the Coex Mall which just opened a huge 50,000 book library, so make sure to check that out while in Gangnam.
4. Arriate Cafe
Also located in Gangnam is Arriate Cafe. Dried bouquets of flowers hang from the ceilings and walls and there is even a picture wall of roses. They serve coffees and cakes and offer free wifi so that you don’t have to wait to upload your pictures to Instagram! 30, Hongik-ro 6-gil, Yeoksam 1(il)-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul
5. Cheonggyecheon
Cheonggyecheon is a walkway along a stream that runs through Seoul. It is located near the historic Heunginjimun Gate and is surrounded by bustling markets and malls. The stream offers a moment of peace in the middle of the city and is a perfect place for a picnic.
