5 Tips on How to ‘Get Out There’ Safely 1

We are relieved to see the progress in the fight against COVID-19.  With early signs that the infection curve has improved in many places, cities are gradually starting to open back up.  Summer is right around the corner and we are ready for it!

As we begin to take those first steps out into the world again and start living life once more, there are a few important things we can continue to do to help keep ourselves and others as safe as possible.

Here are 5 tips on how to #GetOutThere safely:

Get Out There

Wear a Mask – Wearing a face mask is shown to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Put your mask on with clean hands and make sure it fits snugly and comfortably on your face, so you’re not adjusting it too much.  The mask should cover both your nose and mouth.

Wash Your Hands – Washing hands is still the best defense against COVID-19.  Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly, especially before eating and after going outside.  When soap and water aren’t available use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Social Distance – It is still a good idea to keep some distance between you and others right now.  Many stores and restaurants will help with social distancing by putting down floor markers and spacing tables appropriately.  Do your part to give your neighbor some space.

Sanitize – Sanitizer is now your best friend.  Wipe down areas that are commonly used.  When back at work be mindful of high-touch surfaces, like doorknobs, copy machines, and dining areas.  Give them a quick wipe down before and after using.

Avoid Physical Greetings – Hold off on those hugs and handshakes for now.  It’s not rude – we can still greet people in friendly ways with things like a wave, a smile, a nod, or a bow.
