Au Pair Volunteers at Local Church

We encourage all of our participants to experience the joys of volunteering while participating in their exchange program.  CHI Au Pair Wendy Motte, from Belgium, was staying with a host family in Memphis, TN when she was able to volunteer her time.

Wendy joined a group called “Finals Coffee House” through a local church.  The concept of the group was to serve free food and coffee to students that were studying for finals.  Three nights a week students were invited to come to the church to have a quiet place to study.

Wendy loved being able to help out these young students during a stressful moment in their lives.  She even made one connection with a girl who was studying for a French exam.  Wendy offered to help and later found out that she received an A+ on her final!

Wendy says, “Being a volunteer gives great opportunities to meet nice people, make friends, and help for good causes.”

We couldn’t agree more!
