Celebrate J Day
CHI is excited to participate in J Day, a nationwide celebration of J-1 international exchange! Each year, thousands of international students and professionals visit the United States on J-1 exchange visitor visas. These students, teachers, au pairs, camp counselors, interns, and professional trainees greatly enrich the American homes, schools, businesses, and communities in which they live, study, and work. J Day is a fun celebration of the impact and value of these international exchange participants, as well as a great chance to raise awareness of the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program (EVP).
Under the slogan “Eat. Play. Give.”, J Day brings international exchange participants together with their host communities to celebrate cultural diversity and share new American customs while having fun with games, food, and meaningful volunteer activities. It also allows local participants in a community to get to know one another.
CHI will celebrate with our local get together at the Wah Ying Club in San Francisco, CA. Bay Area J-1 participants will be able to meet new friends, play games and win fantastic prizes!
In keeping with the theme, “Eat. Play. Give”, CHI is partnering with Together We Rise and creating care packages for foster youth. All participants are invited to give back by bringing an item to be included in the duffel bags (example: toy, game, book, school/art supplies).
If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area, we hope you will join us in celebrating J Day!
