CHI Ambassadors: Impacting the Future of Cultural Diplomacy

Fourteen distinguished winners from Cultural Homestay International’s (CHI’s) Summer Work & Travel program, representing ten different countries, were chosen to participate in CHI’s Cultural Ambassador Award (CAA) conference, in Washington, DC.  The attendees engaged in lively panel discussions with officials at the Educational Cultural Affairs division of the Department of State and listened to inspiring speakers address the power and value of public diplomacy and cultural exchange.

At the end of the four-day conference, which also included taking in the major sights of the nation’s capital, the CAA winners gained a deep understanding of their roles as leaders and representatives of their respective countries.

“I haven’t shared that much about Ukraine in my lifetime, it was a great honor for me to be an ambassador, and even greater honor to communicate with the Department of State and Embassy leaders we met in Washington. “- Bohdana Sydor, Ukraine
