CHI Au Pair USA recently offered a contest for its au pairs. The goal was to create a video that best showed the experience of being an au pair. The grand prize would be a free road trip
through the beautiful American southwest courtesy of Intrepid Suntrek, worth almost $1,000. With that kind of reward being dangled, our au pairs got straight down to business creating some fantastic videos.
There were many submissions that the judges loved, but in the end, one stood above the rest. CHI is proud to announce that the winner of the contest is Wassana Khanthano. Wassana, 27, hails from Sukhothai, Thailand, and has been an au pair for the Mian family in Mountain View, CA since January. She will get to enjoy the reward of her free trip at the conclusion of her program in August.
Right now, we thought this would be a great time to catch up with Wassana. She has loved taking care of the Mian’s two boys and spending time with the family. She was drawn to CHI Au Pair USA because she loves helping children, wanted to experience living in a new country, and wanted to improve her English. She has been able to do all of those things as an au pair. She has grown very fond of the United States, especially the friendly people she’s met, and the great weather.
Looking beyond her time with the Mian family and her free trip, Wassana has plans to eventually become an ICU nurse – certainly another profession where she can help people and do a great deal of good. All of us at CHI are proud of Wassana, and we wish her continued success for the rest of her time with us, and beyond.
