“As we were putting some MNCC IEP (Intensive English Program) students through security at SeaTac airport, there were Tom and Lilka returning from their Alaska trip/conference. Boy were they surprised – and our IEP students were so impressed that I arranged for them to meet the directors of CHI… ha ha…not really, but they were very impressed when Tom began speaking Japanese to them and explained who he is. They all took pictures with Tom and Lilka. After the security checkpoint, they were personally chaperoned by the CHI co-founders (!) to their respective departure gates.”
