Tim and Tina Weidauer, along with their 16-year-old daughter Elisha, recently joined the CHI Academic Year Program as a host family for the first time. The family hosted Fumika, a high school exchange student from Nagasaki, Japan, and the match couldn’t have been better.
The Weidauers enjoyed their experience so much that after the year was over, they took the time to share their story with The Sandy Post, the local newspaper in their hometown of Sandy, Oregon, a small town in the greater Portland area. The article describes their year together, as well as a sweet care package Fumika recently sent the family.
Now veterans of the program, this year the Weidauers are hosting their second AYP student, Karolina, from Poland. All of us at CHI offer a big thank you to the Weidauers for being such a wonderful CHI host family! We hope Karolina’s time with you proves just as rewarding as Fumika’s!
