On Monday, April 16th U.S. Department of State Designated J-1 Sponsors, guest speakers and local community members gathered together at Dunaway Community Center, in Ogunquit, Maine to discuss the Summer Work and Travel program.
The purpose of the gathering was to engage with the Ogunquit community; to organize orientations and safety seminars and arrange local area trips and activities for J-1 visitors this summer.
They also discussed housing and transportation options, arranged airport greeters, discussed a bike loan program and helmet drive as well as options for providing free bus passes and banking and social security card assistance.
J-1 exchange visitors will be welcomed and prepared when they visit Ogunquit, Maine and surrounding areas through CHI’s Work and Travel program this summer.
