West St. Louis County Chamber of Commerce members are saying “Ciao!” to Edoardo Pricolo, who is serving as the chamber’s summer intern.

Pricolo is a 19-year-old college student studying economics and management at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. His internship was arranged through Cultural Homestay International.

West St. Louis County Chamber of Commerce President Lori Kelling said Pricolo will be doing tasks such as:

  • Preparing annual calendars with all regular events for the remainder of 2012 as well as 2013
  • Assembling orientation packets and new member packets
  • Designing fliers for upcoming events
  • Filing and organizing administrative records
  • Helping to plan and assisting with July and August general membership meetings, as well as the chamber’s Casino Night Aug. 4.

Kelling is introducing him to area business representatives, and he is attending all chamber events to meet members. She said he also is touring some local business locations.

Pricolo indicates he likes meeting people and having new experiences, and he loves sports. His hobbies include reading, music, traveling and sports, especially soccer and baseball. He has traveled in Europe, Africa and Australia, at which he had a two-month experience as a student in an Australian college.

His father is a lawyer and his “mum” is a teacher. He has a 17-year-old sister, who also is a student.

Pricolo has an uncle who lives in Providence, RI. “He’s a professor of general surgery at Brown University, and he gave me the opportunity to visit the United States a few times,” he said.

“I’m very enthusiastic of spending two months in U.S., being immersed in another way of life and learning about the tradition and the culture of a great country.”

West St. Louis County Chamber of Commerce staffers have serviced Ballwin, Clarkson Valley, Ellisville, Manchester, Twin Oaks, Valley Park, Wildwood and Winchester for 50-plus years.
