Alaska is a beautiful place full of open spaces, nature and quaint small towns. CHI Work & Travel participants visiting the U.S. this spring had the opportunity to take in the beauty of Alaska by hiking in Girdwood, Anchorage. Girdwood is a small Alaskan mountain town that is surrounded by the peaks of the Chugach Mountain Range. The group started their journey by driving along scenic Seward Highway. They stopped at Beluga Point Lookout and Turnagain Arm Drive before arriving in Girdwood.
They hiked the Winter Creek Trail by Alyeska Resort which is five miles long. It runs through the forest and alongside the river and eventually meets up with a beautiful waterfall. Once they were finished and refueled with some pizza, they enjoyed an additional short hike to see Virgin Creek Falls.
Hiking is said to be a treat for the mind and body. Our spring Work & Travel participants had an unforgettable day hiking in Alaska!
