CHI Au Pair USA host family Erin and Gabe Chernov are currently hosting Maria Antonella Martini, from Argentina. Maria is 23 years old and is the family’s second au pair. In addition to hosting Maria, Erin and Gabe also run a summer camp in northern Wisconsin for girls.
Erin and Gabe, who reside for most of the year in the town of Mequon, near Milwaukee, live a busy life. Between taking care of their three young children, working demanding jobs and running their summer camp, their lives are very full. This young couple saw the benefits of having an au pair live in their home and provide help in caring for the children.
Maria has been a wonderful addition to the family. She enjoys spending time with Raya, age 4, Miles, age 2 ½, and Finn, 15 months. Her energy is infectious and the children love having her around. When describing what it means for them to have an au pair like Maria, Erin and Gabe said “our kids have received the benefit of a loving, responsible, mature, consistent caregiver in their lives every day. They are getting a third parent.”
Maria also now has the unique opportunity to join the family at their summer camp, Birch Trail. This traditional camp for girls ages eight to fifteen offers a variety of activities including water sports, hiking, wilderness trips, arts and crafts, horseback riding and more. Campers from all over the world come to Birch Trail during the summer. Maria is a great addition to the camp and not only gets to enrich the lives of Raya, Miles and Finn but gets to share her culture with many campers.
We are so grateful to the Chernov family for becoming a part of the extended CHI family, for welcoming Maria and for giving her this amazing opportunity, and we congratulate Maria for making the most of it. This family and this au pair both found their perfect match!
