Host an Exchange Student! Learn About Another Culture!
CHI is currently looking for volunteer American host families for international exchange students, ages 15 – 18 years old for the upcoming school year or semester. These personable and academically select exchange students speak some English, are bright, curious, and eager to improve their conversational skills & learn about this country. They will do this through living as part of a family for an academic year or semester while attending high school.
Your support of these students reinforces the United States’ commitment to education and opportunity throughout the world. By living with local host families and attending local high schools, the students acquire an understanding of American values and build on leadership skills.
Exchange students arrive from their home country shortly before school begins and return at the end of the school year or semester. Each CHI student comes fully insured and has their own spending money. They expect to bear their own share of household responsibilities as well as being included in normal family activities and lifestyles.
To become a host family for any of our students or to find out more about the program, please find an Academic Program Administrator near you.
