Exchange Students Attend Dîner en Blanc

CHI Internship students in Chicago recently had the opportunity to attend Dîner en Blanc.  This world-wide event began 27 years ago in Paris.  Originally launched by François Pasquier with just a few friends, Paris’ Dîner en Blanc now assembles nearly 15,000 people each year in cities such as San Francisco, Aukland, Los Angeles, Calgary and Chicago.

This exclusive event is a mystery until right before it is set to begin.  At the last minute, the location is given to thousands of people who have been patiently waiting to learn the secret dinner spot. Everyone that attends is dressed all in white and conducts themselves with the elegance and grace.

The location, of what could be considered a mass “chic picnic” in a public space, is always beautiful.  Some notable famous locations in France include the the Eiffel Tower site, Place Vendôme, the Château de Versailles, the Esplanade de Notre-Dame, the Champs-Élysées, Le Louvre Pyramid, and this year:  The Palais Royal Garden!

During the evening guests enjoy their beautiful city while participating in the unexpected.  They are brought together by diverse backgrounds and a love for good taste and beauty.

What a wonderful cultural experience for our CHI exchange students.
